The Minister of police service, Nathi Mthethwa received complains from the Winterveldt and Mabopane community residents about the Loate police station. According to the residents, the Loate police stations were lazy and did not take their job seriously. This follows police minister's visit to Soshanguve in January 24.
Moris Masilela, a former CPF leader said infront of the Loate police station Commander that his leadership is useless to the community. An unknown man's corpse assaulted by the community was found with the community members forcing it into a toilet pit. The CPF members reported that the Loate police were informed but did not bother to show up at the scene.
The angry residents believes that the criminals are the cop's friends. Responding to community criticism, Mthethwa appealed to residents to continue to cooperate with the police and not to generalize incase of any wrong doing.
He concluded by addressing the residents that the state is awareof any corrupt element in the system, but not all the officers are corrupt. A task team will be set up to investigate all allocations relating to Loate police station.
